Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are growing increasingly concerned with their side’s lack of fortunes, as they fear the Blues could lose key-players within the next year.
The Sun states Bayern Munich have joined the hunt for Willian but Chelsea are looking to bat away this interest by offering the Brazilian a new deal worth in excess of £100k-a-week.
The 27-year-old midfielder has been one of few bright sparks for the West London side this season, scoring numerous free-kicks to save the Champions League campaign and provide some positives in what’s been a disaster in the Premier League.
Moving forward Willian looks set to be a crucial part of any revival to Chelsea’s season and they want to secure his future, ensuring that Bayern do not come swooping at some stage in 2016.
However, given Willian’s form, it seems unlikely the player would want to give up playing top European football- and with Chelsea trailing fourth-spot by 13 points the Blues need a miracle to ensure they have Champions League football again next season.
Chelsea fans, how crucial is Willian to your chances? Let us know in the comments below!
