It happens a lot that pundits, ex-players and commentators make statements and predictions, with some of the more ‘out-there’ ones being picked up and slated by fans. Former Tottenham and Manchester United striker, Dimitar Berbatov has been talking to The Daily Star where he claimed United win the league, with Spurs second and Manchester City and Liverpool third and fourth.

Whilst it’s nice for Spurs fans to see that their former hitman backs them to be challenging at the top of the Premier League, his statement about United winning the Premier League is downright bold. Jose Mourinho has endured a shocking pre-season and has been moaning about everything you can think of. Meanwhile, Liverpool and Manchester City have been flying, with most bookies backing them to finish 1st and 2nd.
Next May, Berbatov could be looking back to these comments and laughing at how right he was, but most supporters seem to think he’ll have egg on his face after making such a bold call. The Hungarian striker has also commented that he thinks Harry Kane will pick up his 3rd Premier League golden boot, but thinks Romelu Lukaku and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will give the England man a run for his money.

Whilst a lot of Spurs fans would take a 2nd place finish this season, they don’t think Berbatov will be very accurate in his predictions come the end of the season.
