The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern have been calling for Jurgen Klopp to open up his chequebook and sign Atletico Madrid’s Slovenian shot-stopper, Jan Oblak. The incredible 25-year-old has registered 29 clean sheets this season and conceded just 28 goals in all competitions, helping Los Rojiblancos to a second place La Liga finish and the Europa League crown.
The 25-year-old ‘keeper has been one of the best in position in the world over the last few seasons and has been apart of Atletico Madrid’s water-tight defence that shipped just eight goals at home in La Liga this season, with four of those coming in their last two home games as Diego Simeone’s side prioritised the Europa League after securing Champions League football for next season.
Whilst it’s unlikely that Oblak would be able to repeat his incredible achievement at Anfield if he was to make the move to Liverpool, it would be a sure improvement on Loris Karius. Despite an impressive second-half of the season that saw him nail down the number one spot under Jurgen Klopp, Karius’ two errors on Saturday cost the Reds the Champions League final, giving more weight to the rumours (as per the Daily Mirror) that either Oblak or Roma’s Allison could be on their way to England this summer.

I'm afraid that price is what we're now going to have to pay. We should have got a world class GK ages ago! If I'm honest I would prefer Oblak but either one will lead us to a healty GK situation. I like Karius but he'll be a brill number 2 and Ward an excellent 3rd choice!
