The Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern have been urging the club to give Costa Rican winger, Joel Campbell, another chance at The Emirates. The fans watched on as Costa Rica picked up their first point of the World Cup yesterday, drawing 2-2 with Switzerland last night and Joel Campbell proved pivotal to that, assisting his side’s first equaliser.

It was a game of high interest to the Arsenal fans propping our bar up as three Gunners took to the field in the Group E game. Granit Xhaka and Stephan Lichtsteiner were the Swiss Gunners whilst Joel Campbell for the Costa Ricans. However, Campbell’s Arsenal deal is set to expire this summer and the club are unlikely to renew that contract after a couple of uneventful loans haven’t proven to the club that the winger should be kept on.
Despite this, the fans are adamant that the 26-year-old should be given another chance in an Arsenal shirt and believe that Campbell is better than both Alex Iwobi and Danny Welbeck who have been trusted with roles in the squad over the last couple of seasons. The future for the Costa Rican is unsure but there’s no doubting that wherever he does go he will find a way to impress with his versatility across the forward line and pace proving crucial tp his game.
