Aleksandar Mitrovic really is a name to divide opinion amongst the Newcastle United fans in the Transfer Tavern.
Few would doubt the Serbian’s enthusiasm, though it’s not always channelled in the right manner and the 22-year-old has proved far from prolific since joining from Anderlecht. Indeed, he’s not always appeared to have the complete trust of Rafa Benitez at St. James’ Park, with Dwight Gayle preferred last season.
With that in mind, a recent report from the Northern Echo has become the topic of debate. They claim Ligue 1 side Lyon are ready to bid €15m for the forward, who they have reportedly made their No.1 target this summer.
While the Magpies are believed to be holding out for closer to €20m, the notion of bidding farewell to Mitrovic certainly has Tyneside tongues in the Tavern wagging.
