It’s all moving a bit too slowly down at West Ham for their fans at the moment here in the Transfer Tavern.

The supporters will of course be pleased that their club is being linked with some of the best around, however with just Pablo Zabaleta added to their books so far, fans are becoming unsettled.

Slaven Bilic is under pressure to improve on last season’s dismal opening. The Hammers managed to claw their way of a brewing relegation scrap, but did ultimately command his side to a respectable 11th.

As aforementioned, the club have been linked with some top players this window. Former Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez is being lined up as one potential recruit.

While Arsenal’s Olivier Giroud is also on the Hammers’ radar.

However, if the West Ham squad remains as it as, Bilic must utilise these TWO players as impact subs against Man Utd on the opening day…

Diafra Sakho

Any game against a Jose Mourinho side is difficult, but a fit Andy Carroll could ease the Hammers’ struggles. Slaven Bilic should start with the Englishman and utilise his aerial threat as much as possible.

Diafra Sakho has been another injury hit Hammer, but (again if fit) the Senegalese striker can be used as an impact to come off the bench and replace Carroll. Sakho times his runs well and will stretch the United defence in the closing stages.

Pedro Obiang

Obiang has been recently hammered down to a five-year contract extension. The Spaniard, who missed the end of last season after undergoing ankle surgery is expected to be fit for the opening day meeting at Old Trafford.

The 25-year-old is seen as a key figure for the future of West Ham, but with Mark Noble and Cheikhou Kouyaté nailed in for the centre-midfield role, there is no place the Obiang in the team.

The midfielder will have to change our minds from the bench.
