‘Bring him back’, ‘#MCFC legend’ - Man City fans on Twitter call for Guardiola to make sensational January transfer

The Manchester City fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting with a mixture of bemusement and excitement to some unlikely transfer rumours that have emerged recently.

At the half-way stage of the season, it appears that fans and pundits alike have completely ran out of superlatives to describe the current Manchester City team. Pep Guardiola’s side are quite simply running away with the Premier League title this season now that the former Barcelona manager seems to have firmly stamped his ethos into the club.

But despite the level of supremacy that City are currently exerting over the rest of the sides competing in the English top-flight, it appears City are still in the market to improve their current squad of players.

One of the most sensational rumours to emerge in recent months concerns the future of the former Manchester City firecracker and infamous club legend Mario Balotelli.

The Italian striker who is never shy of voicing his opinion – whether through spoken message or a printed t-shirt – recently admitted to Calciomercarto that Manchester City are the “best club” he’s played for, and that he would be willing to re-join The Citizens “without a salary”.

Considering his phenomenal goal-scoring record and improved level of maturity he has demonstrated at Nice, a move to City may not be completely out of the question.

And there are certainly plenty of City supporters on Twitter who believe his progress in recent years suggests he could become a valuable addition to Guardiola’s star-studded squad.
