Bruno Fernandes could be the answer to Chelsea’s problems in the summer

Chelsea fans could be forced to deal with yet another managerial change if Maurizio Sarri is dismissed – a very real possibility according to the Express.

The Italian faces a fight to save his job after a humiliating defeat to Manchester City last weekend. Sarri’s arrival at Stamford Bridge was met with plenty of optimism but the Blues now face a fight to finish in the top four yet again following Manchester United’s recent resurgence. Further poor results towards the end of the campaign could result in Sarri losing his job.

Roman Abramovich could be forced to make another change of manager to keep the Blues competitive at the top of the league. The Russian billionaire could finance a huge summer of spending in order to prevent the club from losing further ground to their rivals. Fringe players will also be offloaded to boost the manager’s transfer budget.

One man Chelsea should be looking to sign is Sporting Lisbon playmaker – Bruno Fernandes. Valued at £27m by Transfermarkt, the attacking midfielder burst on the scene after joining from Sampdoria in the summer of 2017. After an excellent campaign last season, Fernandes was linked big money move to one of Europe’s elite due to internal issues at the club but ultimately decided to stay put.

The 24-year-old has been in exceptional form yet again, netting an incredible 20 goals and registering ten assists in all competitions. Fernandes could provide the creative spark that is currently missing in the Chelsea engine room to bring even more from Eden Hazard. Averaging a remarkable 2.9 key passes per game, the Portugal international would take the first team to a completely new level (WhoScored).

It would take a mammoth fee to prise him from his homeland, however, the price may just be worth it in the summer.

Chelsea fans, thoughts?
