The Football Transfer Tavern are desperate for Manchester United to keep Wayne Rooney in the Premier League and so we were pleased to hear Bayern Munich rule themselves out of signing the England striker according to the The Guardian.
Rooney handed in a transfer request at Old Trafford earlier this season and has not been happy at the way he was left out of crucial games by the departing Sir Alex Ferguson.
Incoming United manager David Moyes has a history with Rooney after negative comments made by the former Everton striker in his autobiography, so talks are set to be held between player and manager in the next few weeks.
“I don’t know what Rooney would bring to the Bundesliga,” Bayern’s sporting director Matthias Sammer said.
“I can’t answer that. I can answer that we have great respect for Wayne Rooney but there has been no contact with him.
“There is no contact and he’s not on the agenda. No, no. Absolutely not.”
