Bundesliga Side Prepared To Meet €12M Pricetag

You have to feel sorry for Danish striker Nicklas Bendtner, the bumbling striker works hard and tries…for the most part.  The goals just don’t come often enough and in recent times he has had ample opportunities to prove himself to his manager and team mates and he has just not lived up to the high standards he claims he can meet.

It now appears though that his time might be running out at the Emirates, with manager Arsene Wenger now considering the sale of the powerful forward with a host of German clubs chasing him.

Bendtner was part of a few different youth academies growing up in his native Denmark before he joined the Arsenal youth academy in 2004.  He was initially successful in the clubs reserve team with other ‘future star’ and now Serie B ‘legend’ Arturo Lupoli.  After a pretty successful loan spell with Birmingham in the Championship, Bendtner looked a useful striker and he soon returned to Arsenal and vowed to break into the first team and to become a big star.

Sadly for the player he has flattered to deceive and even though he has remained confident in his ability, the only person that seems to believe in his talents is the man himself.  In 147 games for Arsenal he has managed 45 goals, which is not really the best strike ratio, some of his games have been on the wing but with all the injuries to other Gunners forwards he has had plenty of opportunities that he has failed to take.

With Marouane Chamakh now at the club and him looking a decent prospect it appears time has run out for the Dane.  The probably destination according to seems to be Germany and the Bundesliga.  Bayern Munich, Schalke,  Borussia Dortmund and now Weder Bremen are all reportedly considering moving for the player this Summer.

Wenger is believed to have put a figure of £10million on the player and should one of the German sides come near that it is thought that the Arsenal boss will jump at the opportunity and use the money to bring in another striker.

I believe Bendtner would be a success in Germany and I really think it is time for a change of scenery for the striker, a fresh start would allow him to get back to basics and hopefully this time his slightly inflated ego won’t put extra undue pressure on his shoulders.  £10million would allow Arsenal to look for other strike options to complement Chamakh and Van Persie and I think it would benefit the club as much as it would benefit the player.

I was there in the dark days of Lincoln and Walsall away and loving this brief day in the sun before the inevitable City implosion in 2016. Football is pretty much on my mind the whole time so what better place for me to vent my amazingly non-biased views than on here, get involved!
