Bye bye: Hughes must definitely axe these two players in the coming weeks

It’s fair to say that the Stoke fans here in the Transfer Tavern have seen their side experience an indifferent first half of the season this year.

And, with a busy Christmas period before the January transfer window the question the local Potters are asking themselves is will Mark Hughes look to make changes within the starting line up before recruiting more players?

The club currently sit in the bottom half of the Premier League and it’s fair to say that our landlord expected more this season – so is it time for players to be dropped?

Following an indifferent run of form and a distinct lack of consistency,  changes surely must be rung in order to find the winning formula.

Mark Hughes has stuck with a similar bunch of players but maybe now is the time to make a change and try to shoot their way into the top half of the table – here, then, is who our landlord thinks should be hooked…

Wilfried Bony

With just two goals in nine Premier League appearances, it is fair to say that Bony has not hit the heights that he had at Swansea City.

Whether that is a result of low confidence following the little game time he got whilst at Manchester City or whether he has just struggled to settle in to the Stoke team, it is fair to say that Potters fans in the Tavern had expected much more from him this season.

Mame Biram Diouf

The Potters fans in the Transfer Tavern must be wondering why Mark Hughes is persisting with Mame Biram Diouf.

The Senegalese international has not only struggled this season but was very disappointing last season as well, scoring a handful of goals despite being a regular fixture. He doesn’t seem to be getting any better and so Hughes should put him on the bench and leave him there for now.
