Our West Ham United fans here in the Transfer Tavern are hoping to get some stability and directions from all around going into next season.

The Hammers recently appointed David Moyes until the end of the season, but reports are breaking that may end there for Moyesy, while the board look elsewhere to take the Hammers forward on a permanent basis. Though he’s done well to stop the rot in east London, many of our punters clad in claret and blue don’t think he’s the best long-term option.

After a great start, the usual new manager bounce has faded and West Ham are seemingly being pulled back into a relegation battle they fought so hard to get out of. The fans in the pool room are getting very disgruntled, but not at Moyes, it’s the board that they are venting their anger towards.

After missing out on many targets in the winter window, alongside openly criticising players, the board have segregated themselves away from the fans even though they are calling for unity in these desperate times for the club.

If the board want to get the fans back onside, they can start by trying to get one of these three managers in for the start of next season…

Marco Silva

With Marco Silva having the Premier League experience with teams that are in and around the bottom half of the table, he’ll go into the West Ham job knowing what not to do. He can get a team playing very attractive football like he did at Watford and could be a good option as he is currently out of work, so there’s no compensation package to deal with.

However, as we saw when Everton came knocking, Silva’s head is clearly turned by the bigger jobs and this could be a factor if he is successful at the club.

Thomas Tuchel

Thomas Tuchel has been out of work since leaving Borussia Dortmund last season after winning the DFB-Pokal cup in his final game. He has been compared to Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp with the way he likes his teams to set up, and that high pressing, positional play would be up West Ham’s street.

Our regulars would love to see Tuchel given a shot in the Premier League, and West Ham could be the perfect fit for the German.

Rafa Benitez

Rafa Benitez has been in the thick of it with Newcastle United and if West Ham comes knocking, many of our regulars feel that he would jump at the chance to move ship. He has put up with a tight budget while the loom over the takeover drags on, so he seems primed to go if the right club came calling.

If Benitez does keep Newcastle up, it could be one of his greatest achievements under the circumstances and make him even more attractive to the Hammers.
