There are celebrations coming from the Chelsea supporting corner of the Football Transfer Tavern after reports made their way through the bar doors from France regarding some big summer business.
According to reports from French outlet L’Equipe (via The Metro), the Premier League champions have agreed a €40m deal to sign Monaco midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko.
The 22-year-old played a vital role in taking the principality side to their first league title in 17 years as well as reaching the semi-finals of the Champions League.
Bakayoko kept Leonardo Jardim’s exciting young side ticking from deep in their title winning season, registering an average pass success rate of 87%.
Our landlord reckons that this could be a fantastic deal for Antonio Conte as the Italian looks to bolster his ranks ahead of a return to the Champions League next season.
Fans here in the Tavern are getting very excited over the prospect of seeing the Monaco man alongside compatriot and back-to-back Premier League winner N’Golo Kante at Stamford Bridge next season.
Whilst the fans at the bar are excited, it seems those on social media are getting in the mood to see Bakayoko in west London as well…
That’s a steal
