The Rangers fans in the Transfer Tavern have been getting excited about their upcoming Europa League qualifier against FC Shkupi. This tie comes almost a year to the day that they were embarrassingly knocked out of the competition at the same stage to Progres Niederkorn. For Rangers, this game provides the fans with a first chance to see their side in action under their new manager, Steven Gerrard. The club will be hoping Gerrard will be able to lead them to some silverware in the upcoming season. However, with his former Liverpool boss, Brendan Rodgers, managing Rangers Old Firm rivals, Celtic, it will be a tough ask for the Bluenoses to win a trophy.
This game against FC Shkupi will be an interesting one, a lot of the fans are confident that the Gers will blow their Macedonian opposition out of the park in their meeting as they aim to gain some early momentum ahead of the new Scottish Premier League campaign. It will be easier said than done though, with the Europa league always proving to be a tough competition.
