Rangers fans must be buzzing with excitement about the new campaign as Steven Gerrard prepares to cut his teeth in domestic competition. Indeed, it’s been a strong start in Europe for the Light Blues chief thus far though Saturday’s opener against Aberdeen is where his reign will truly start in earnest.
Still, while Gers around the world will undoubtedly be looking to the future under this exciting new regime, many supporters on Twitter were taking a trip down memory lane yesterday. That’s because former Ibrox favourite Carlos Cuellar posted a message on his account marking 11 years since his debut in front of the Rangers crowd and wished his former club luck in their Europa League journey.
It’s been 11 years since my debut with @RangersFC Memories get older but my passion remains intact Good luck this Thursday in the @EuropaLeague!

The Spaniard helped Rangers to the UEFA Cup final a decade ago, also winning both domestic cups during his single campaign in Glasgow, so is certainly a hugely popular figure amongst the Ibrox faithful.
With that in mind, here’s a look at the reaction online.
Brilliant defender for us, always welcome at Ibrox Carlos
