Celtic expected to revive interest in Scott McKenna

Celtic managed to secure all three points against Hamilton Academical yesterday in what was a dominant performance from Brendan Rodgers’ men.

The Hoops remain at the top of the table after yesterday’s win, with Steven Gerrard’s Rangers applying pressure from second position. Although, it appears as if Rodgers has been looking towards the January transfer window, as according to the Daily Mail, Celtic are expected to revive their interest in Scott McKenna.

Rodgers’ side are expected to revive their interest in Scott McKenna after Aberdeen declined to sell the Scotland international in the last window.

But, they aren’t the only team interested in his services as Wolverhampton Wanderers and Aston Villa are also in the hunt for the central defender.

Celtic could lose Dedryck Boyata at some point in the January transfer window with Fulham readying a bid, so Rodgers must do everything he can to bring McKenna to Celtic Park.

THE VERDICT:

Long-term replacement for wantaway star Boyata.

Scott McKenna has already shown that he has what it takes to become one of the best defenders in Scottish football, so he deserves the chance to secure silverware and feature in Europe at Celtic.

However, with the pulling power of Premier League football possibly luring him to England, the Hoops may have to turn their attentions elsewhere in January.
