Celtic fans were agreeing with one of their former players as he called for the club’s Old Firm rivals to agree with handing the Hoops the league title.
In an interview with BBC Sportsound, the retired forward John Hartson claimed the old foes would come away with ‘a lot of credit’ if they agreed to let the Celtic Park outfit lift the Scottish Premiership title. He also went on to have a small dig at the arch-rivals as he claimed there’s no way they are able to catch their Glasgow rivals.
One fan ‘totally’ agreed.
Totally agree… Sevco should do the honourable thing and concede the title…
It’s the right thing to do

Hartson is a favourite among supporters of the Scottish giants after his spell with the club. The former Wales international scored over 100 goals in just 201 games across all competitions, including some famous strikes in Europe (via Soccerbase). He struck a stunning long-range effort as the Bhoys beat Liverpool 2-0 in the quarter-finals of the UEFA Cup back in 2003. Supporters were agreeing with his comments as they took to Twitter to react. Here is a selection of tweets:
The league will ideally be played to a finish, but if that’s not possible then it should be awarded to Celtic, and rightly so.
