Celtic: Fans annoyed by Neil Lennon’s Jonny Hayes substitution vs St Johnstone

Loads of Celtic fans were left furious by a decision made by Neil Lennon during the 1-0 win over St Johnstone, as the manager opted to introduce Jonny Hayes when chasing a goal at 0-0.

The Hoops endured a difficult afternoon on Sunday, and while their fans were surely buoyed by arch-rivals Rangers’ defeat the day before, the players were unable to produce much on the pitch due to the horrific weather. Odsonne Edouard’s strike against the post was the standout moment in the match until Ryan Christie won it in the 81st minute, but a decision just before the goal infuriated the Hoops faithful.

Hayes appears to be a bit of a favourite of Lennon, playing 26 times in all competitions this campaign, which is an awful lot more than these fans want to see. One supporter labelled the decision to introduce the 32 year-old for Greg Taylor as ‘baffling’ while another said Lennon has a ‘sickness’. Check out some of the best Twitter reactions down below…
