Brendan Rodgers and Celtic haven’t looked like an overly happy marriage this season, after previously enjoying a romance that burned brighter than a thousand suns. Indeed, having won a double treble in charge of his boyhood heroes, a lack of transfer action over the course of the summer certainly seemed to ruffle a few feathers.
So, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him leave this summer. Now, it must be said that there aren’t many suggestions of that in the press right now, though the former Liverpool coach has been somewhat touted for a big move by the bookies.
Indeed, Paddy Power (as reported by the Daily Record) have slashed the odds on the Northern Irishman moving to Manchester United to potentially replace Jose Mourinho to as low as 10/1. Dubious perhaps, considering the size of United – their current state aside – and his history with Liverpool, though it certainly sparked a reaction online.
With that in mind, here’s a look at some of it.
Why would Brendan want to make the drop down to that level?
