A number of Celtic fans have called on the club to secure a permanent deal for Fraser Forster after assistant manager John Kennedy told the Sunday Post that the Hoops would be open to signing the on-loan goalkeeper permanently.
In quotes that were shared by @celticbible on Twitter, Kennedy said: “If there is a deal to be done, the club can produce something and a deal between Southampton and Fraser is possible, then I’m pretty sure we would try to do it. If Fraser became available we would want him.”

Last Saturday, The Athletic reported [via Daily Record] that Forster, who is on loan from Southampton, is willing to take a pay cut in order to extend his stay with Celtic beyond the end of this season, at which point he is due to return to the English Premier League outfit.
The 31-year-old has been a key presence for Neil Lennon’s team in 2019/20, coming up with vital penalty saves in last week’s draw at Copenhagen and in the Betfred Cup final win over Rangers, as well as producing a stunning injury-time save in the home win over Lazio in October. He has kept 15 clean sheets in 35 games this term and conceded just 23 goals.
