Loads of Celtic fans are going wild over some transfer news on Twitter, as Carl Anka, The Athletic’s Southampton reporter, claims Fraser Forster plans to take a pay-cut to sign for Celtic permanently.
According to Anka, via @celticbible, Forster wants to turn his loan stay at Parkhead into a permanent move this summer, and is even willing to accept reduced wages to make it happen. The chances of him staying in Scotland are “pretty good”, reports Anka.
The 31 year-old signed for the club on loan last summer, five years after moving to the south coast for around £11m – he is now valued at £7.2m by Transfermarkt. Since returning, he has reminded everyone why he was such a popular figure before his departure, producing a cup final performance that will live long in the memory in the 1-0 win over Rangers back in December.
