Loads of Celtic fans are lauding Jeremie Frimpong after the youngster’s hilarious League Cup final interview went viral.
As the old cliché goes, there won’t have been a more relieved man inside Hampden Park on Sunday afternoon than Frimpong, who was sent off during the Bhoys’ 1-0 victory over arch-rivals Rangers.
Fans will of course be able to forgive the youngster for his mistake due to the result, and his heart-warming post-match interview won’t have done too much harm either.
“I was buzzing, I was buzzing,” he frantically told BT Sport about his reaction to Fraser Forster’s penalty save.
“But then it was like the worst feeling ever. I’m like, oh my days, the minutes go so slow! I wanted to cry, but then when he blew the last whistle oh my god I was buzzing.”
The 18 year-old will have certainly learned a lot from his eventful first cup final, and with a contract at Parkhead until 2023, he will undoubtedly have more to come.
Frimpong has played 12 times in all competitions this season, scoring once and providing three assists, and fans are piling praise on his hilarious reaction to Sunday’s win.
