With Celtic sitting top of the Scottish Premiership as the only team with a 100% record from their first four games, manager Neil Lennon was acknowledged for those results by being named Premiership Manager of the Month for August.
After receiving the award, the club’s official Twitter channel @CelticFC posted quotes from the manager in which he highlighted the contribution of his players and backroom staff for their results last month.

NL: “It was a team effort. The players have been magnificent. My backroom team should take a huge amount of credit. It’s been a superb effort in a very demanding month.” pic.twitter.com/aXm1eHdNCR

It is the 12th time that Lennon has won the award, as noted by CelticFC.net, and the Hoops have begun their quest for a ninth successive league title with wins over St Johnstone, Motherwell, Hearts and Rangers, scoring 17 goals in the process.
Lennon’s team also recovered from the disappointment of Champions League elimination by CFR Cluj in the qualifying rounds to defeat AIK in the Europa League play-offs and reach the group stage of that competition.
These Celtic fans on Twitter congratulated the manager on his August award:
Say what you want, he’s a Celtic man and he knows how to run the club
