A lot of Celtic fans were talking about Tony Cascarino following a tweet from Hoops fan St.Anthony slating the player’s career at the club.
Cascarino was signed for £1.1m from Aston Villa in July 1991, as per thecelticwiki, but really failed to make an impression as the striker only managed to score four goals in 18 games, and for such a huge price tag in that era, his signing seemed a real letdown.

He failed to win any silverware either and it just looked to be a complete failure which sadly didn’t work out. Some might wonder why they paid such a fee for a player who had only scored 12 goals in 50 games for Aston Villa, as per thecelticwiki.
He has been a frequent critic of the Hoops now that he is retired and he did so with such regularity that the Daily Record compiled a list of ill-judged criticisms from the ex-Republic of Ireland striker.
It is quite ironic to see the former player slate a league in which he struggled and, judging by the fan replies below, it seems that there is no love lost between him and the Celtic faithful.
Here is what these Hoops fans had to say following the tweet:
Cascarino. What a lump of wood that was. Now has the cheek to pontificate about the standard of Scottish football in the media when he came up here and couldn't hack it in an 'inferior' league. Wretched character. pic.twitter.com/HCZWv3aBgX

One of the best bits of business that Celtic ever done was the swap with Chelsea for Tom Boyd.

Wretched is spot on. He was one useless waste of money. Also, he couldn’t hack it too. Was there when he made his debut….he was like Coco the clown, falling everywhere.
