Celtic head into 2020 with a real fight for the Scottish Premiership title on their hands. They’re currently first, but their city rivals are just two points behind with a game in hand having won the latest Old Firm derby at Celtic Park.
They’ll want to keep their momentum in that race before they return to action in the Europa League, where they’ll take on FC Copenhagen in the round of 32. Their continued progression would mean an extra strain on their squad, though.
Their squad has already been weakened in the January window, with Scott Sinclair’s departure to Championship side Preston North End. After the loss to Steven Gerrard’s men before the end of the year, Celtic fans will want the club to have a productive January to ensure they maintain their advantage over their great rivals.
