Despite the fact Celtic let a one-goal lead slip away in Copenhagen last night, Fraser Forster emerged as a real positive after saving a late penalty to give his side a great chance of progressing into the next round given Parkhead’s reputation on European nights.
Indeed, manager Neil Lennon described the stopper as ‘brilliant’ as he prevented Jens Stage from doubling the home side’s lead and that, along with his performance in the Scottish League Cup final, are surely standout moments in his second stint as a Bhoy, having returned on loan from Southampton over the course of the summer.
As a result, plenty of Hoops on social media were begging the club to sign him permanently.
While the Daily Echo did suggest there was no permanent option to bring him back for good in the summer, Pat Bonner (per the Times) did back him for such a switch, despite the fact the same report claims he’d have to accept a drop in salary, given the riches of the Premier League.
