Celtic: Fans discuss former player Davie Provan

Many Celtic fans are discussing former player Davie Provan after a post on Twitter talking about the ex-winger.

Provan is a former Scottish international who played for The Bhoys from 1978-1987, making 192 appearances in all competitions and scoring 42 goals, via thecelticwiki. He also managed to win the league title four times, as well as the Scottish Cup twice and the League Cup once.

Clearly he had an illustrious career whilst playing for the Hoops, but fans have mixed opinions on how good a player he was for the club. The Scotsman, who even had a testimonial which saw the Celts beat Nottingham Forest 3-1, has had fans call him ‘overrated‘, although others have said he was a ‘fantastic player‘.

His stats at the club emphasise that he had a successful time at the side no matter what fans thought, but it is interesting to see a player cause such divide between fans.
