A Celtic fan has started a debate over Hatem Abd Elhamed, and many of the fanbase are now discussing the Hoops player’s career so far in Scotland.
Elhamed signed for the side in July 2019 from Israeli club Hapoel Beer Sheva, via Transfermarkt, but hasn’t had the easiest debut campaign.

The defender has spent most of the season on the sidelines after suffering a muscle injury that ruled him out from November until the end of February. He managed to start in Celtic’s last match and even picked up an assist in the 5-0 thrashing of St.Mirren, via BBC Sport, however unluckily for the right-back, football has had to be postponed since. He will be hoping he will stay in the starting eleven when it resumes.

His injury struggles have been the main topic of discussion, and the Hoops faithful are debating whether he will be able to remain fully fit for a long period, with one fan saying “Hope so. Great player”. However, another is worried he could become “another [Tom] Rogic” – a player who has also struggled with injuries.
Keeping four clean sheets in the five matches he has managed to play whilst also grabbing an assist highlights that Celtic could have a capable player, but only if the 29 year-old, via Transfermarkt, can overcome his injury issues.
Here is what fans had to say following the tweet:
Elhammed looks a fine signing. Strong and fast and can play right back or centre half. Question remains though – will he ever be fully fit for a long period ? pic.twitter.com/1gMkX3USl1

The injury he got was definitely for the cause. The stretch he put on to get there… Neil says he sees him as a centre half… a think if he was fit all the time it would just be a matter of throwing him a jersey…play anywhere you asked him

Probably not.

One bad injury can lead to a cycle of niggly injuries.
Surely had sufficient recovery time.

Exactly.Fine player but what’s the point of having him if he’s in the stand most games

Fantastic player that looks perfect for right back or right sided CB in the 3 but looks like he could be another rogic.
