Celtic: Fans discuss Kris Commons’ career at the club

Many Celtic fans are discussing Kris Commons after a fan page asked the question on Twitter as to whether he was overrated or underrated.

The attacking midfielder signed for £315k in 2011 from Derby, per Transfermarkt, and ended up making 227 appearances across six seasons, scoring 89 goals and contributing with 72 assists.

It’s a very impressive tally to have and he was clearly a big influence as during his time at the club, the Hoops won six league titles and three domestic cups. Commons also picked up the personal accolade of top scorer in the league in 2013/14, scoring 27 goals.

However, he still causes a lot of debate in the fanbase, with many disagreeing on how good the midfielder was during his time in Scotland.

It is interesting to see the debate, given Commons enjoyed one of his most fruitful periods in football whilst at the Hoops. However, it seems some lost a little bit of love for him due to his rocky relationship with former manager Ronny Deila (BBC Sport).
