A lot of Celtic fans are praising former player Jimmy McGrory after the club posted on Twitter celebrating the legend.
The forward signed for the club in 1921, and played at the Scottish side until 1937, when he left to manage Kilmarnock. During his playing career for the Hoops, he featured 445 times and scored an amazing 472 goals, via thecelticwiki. He also won the league four times, the Scottish Cup five times and the Glasgow cup four times.

He then managed the club from 1945-1965, but only managed to win the league once, although he did win the domestic cup four times.
His impressive playing record for the Hoops is one of the best ever in football when you compare with players across the globe, and he was ranked in July 2007 by the IFFHS (International Federation of Football History & Statistics), after they produced a survey that placed him as the 8th greatest striker of all time. This is a great accolade and he was the highest ranking Briton, per thecelticwiki.
