A number of Celtic fans have taken to Twitter to express their doubts about Scott Hogan, the Republic of Ireland striker who has been linked with a move to the club.
On Thursday, TEAMtalk reported that the Hoops were considering a bid to bring the out-of-favour Aston Villa man, who is currently on loan at Stoke, to Parkhead in the January transfer window. The 27-year-old has struggled for form during his spell at the bet365 Stadium this season, with just two goals in 15 appearances so far for the Potters, and according to TEAMtalk he is not in the plans of current Stoke manager Michael O’Neill.
TEAMtalk added that Aston Villa are willing to let Hogan leave as they pursue a striker themselves in the transfer window and would not stand in his way if he wishes to join Celtic on loan. The Irish forward hasn’t had much of an impact at Villa Park, with only 10 goals in 61 appearances for his parent club, and played just six games in their promotion-winning campaign last season.

These Celtic fans on Twitter think the Hoops should steer clear of Hogan this month, with one comparing him to Wayne Biggins, who had a brief and unsuccessful spell at the club during 1993/94:
I hope the chat about Aston Villa striker Scott Hogan is just silly season nonsense HH pic.twitter.com/jzgsH3IzLn
