Celtic’s 5-0 thrashing of Partick Thistle on Wednesday night may have given Neil Lennon some selection issues for this Saturday’s game against Hibernian. Scott Sinclair came on and looked as deadly as he did under Brendan Rodgers and it could be hard for the manager to ignore him any longer.
Lewis Morgan started the Scottish League Cup quarter-final match ahead of Sinclair and also featured heavily in their quest for Champions League qualification, but he hadn’t scored a single goal in any of those games. Sinclair’s goal in the cup could now put pressure on Lennon to rethink his left-wing hierarchy and perhaps give Sinclair more game time than Morgan.
Celtic’s official Twitter account posted the news of the Englishman’s goal in the 76th minute, and the replies might not be enjoyable for Morgan to read. It seems like some fans have seen enough of the 22-year-old Scotsman and want Sinclair on the pitch more often.
