Celtic: Fans drool over Nir Bitton’s performance vs St Johnstone

Loads of Celtic fans were delighted by the performance on Nir Bitton on Sunday, as the Israel international once again showed his versatility with a mature and composed display.

The Hoops continued their seemingly never-ending run of domestic cup victories on Sunday, beating St Johnstone 1-0 in what can only be described as gruelling conditions. The weather and poor pitch led to a scrappy game with very little quality on show, but Bitton stood out among the crowd as a player with class and a cool head.

Although he signed for the club as a defensive midfielder, the 28 year-old has been extremely useful for Neil Lennon in central defence, where has played no less than 15 times this campaign. Valued at £1.35m by Transfermarkt, he had fans drooling over his ‘Rolls-Royce’ display, as one supporter said he is ‘underrated’ while another simply raved over his commitment to the cause for always giving ‘100%’.
