Responding to old full-time footage courtesy of @celticbible, plenty of Celtic fans have been feeling sentimental over scenes which followed a memorable 5-0 victory over their arch rivals – with Parkhead singing ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone‘ in full voice.
The Hoops, going on to secure their seventh consecutive Premiership title with a ‘chastening defeat‘ of their cross-town foes, will look back fondly on a memorable afternoon after goals from Odsonne Edouard (2), James Forrest, Tom Rogic and Callum McGregor rounded off an incredible victory.
Indeed, judging by the stats from that fateful afternoon, Celtic put on an absolutely dominant showing – registering 59% of possession whilst attempting 24 efforts on goal, three times more than their rivals managed (BBC). Meanwhile, it appears Rangers simply couldn’t cope with their attacking prowess – having to make 22 fouls in total. In truth, the scoreline could’ve been greater, with one Hoops fans claiming ‘it’s like a distant memory now‘.
