Celtic: Fans emotions all over the place as they are awarded the league title

A lot of Celtic fans are over the moon following a club tweet which has announced that they have been awarded the league title by the SPFL as the current campaign is abandoned due to recent events.

These recent events have caused football to be postponed across the world, and it was confirmed in April that the French league was to stop when it was reported by Sky Sports that Paris Saint-Germain, who were 12 points clear of Marseille and also had a game in hand to play, would be crowned champions.

Celtic sat 13 points clear of arch-rivals Rangers, with Steven Gerrard’s side having nine games left to play whilst the Hoops had eight, via BBC Sport.

However after recent events including a vote in April which agreed to abandon the league and award Celtic the title as well as relegate Hearts of Midlothian, per The Guardian, and the SPFL announcing that there will not be an enquiry into this vote, fans of the Hoops have been nervously anticipating the moment they would be awarded the title.

The moment finally came on Monday, per STV news, which is also the day in which founder of the club, Brother Walfrid was born back in 1840, via Celtic FC. It is obviously not the way in which the club would have wanted to win the league, however it is much deserved after a great season and could not have come on a better day.

Fans will now be celebrating their ninth title in a row, per Transfermarkt, and looking to do something which Scotland has never seen before and win 10 in a row, per talkSPORT.
