Celtic are preparing to table a £6m bid for Lech Poznan’s Polish right-back Robert Gumny, as reported by the print edition of the Daily Mail and tweeted by @CelticBible.

According to celtsarehere.com, the Hoops had been monitoring the 21-year-old right-back for some time as a possible replacement for the exit-bound Mikael Lustig and Jeremy Toljan, who have both since left Celtic Park.
Also, the Daily Record claimed that Brendan Rodgers and his scouting team had viewed Gumny as a possible signing before the former Hoops manager left the club to take charge at Leicester City.
The defender has been a regular presence in the Lech Poznan first team for the last couple of seasons after a loan spell at Podbeskidzie in 2016/17.
Gumny made 20 appearances in total for his club last season, scoring once, and has featured in four league games in the early weeks of the current Ekstraklasa campaign.
Celtic currently have only one natural right-back in their first team squad in Anthony Ralston (via Transfermarkt) and he has featured just twice so far this season, with Neil Lennon more regularly opting to start with new signing Hatem Abd Elhamed or centre-back Kristoffer Ajer in the role.
These Celtic fans took to Twitter to give their reactions to the links with Gumny:

Gumny is overrated, he hasn’t made progress for some time and there is no guarantee that a change of environment will change that. At the moment it doesn’t look much better than FIli, which you could probably take for 1m

I can't see any truth in this. We'd never pay that much for someone with such poor stats. We've already signed a good RB so why would we spend so much on another RB when we desperately need a LB.

Is this actually going to happen?
