Shunsuke Nakamura scored some brilliant free-kicks during his time with Celtic. His stunning strike at home to Manchester United in the Champions League immediately springs to mind when thinking about some of the long-range efforts from the former Japan international.
One fan called the effort ‘amazing’.
Amazing. Up there with the Tom Rogic one.

However, today fans were focusing on another one of his most famous set-pieces, which just so happened to secure the league title. Back in April 2007, the Hoops were heading into stoppage-time level with Kilmarnock with just a goal needed to ensure they were champions. The £90k-rated, as per Transfermarkt, attacking midfielder stepped up with his wand of a left foot and curled the ball into the far corner (via SPFL). It was the first part of the side’s domestic double as they later went on to lift the Scottish Cup.
Supporters remembered the goal with fondness as they took to Twitter to react to a clip of the strike. Here are a selection of tweets:
If someone said it was going in the far corner at this point you’d laugh at them pic.twitter.com/h9Rtr8BUa9
