A lot of Celtic fans vented their fury at the Daily Record over the manner of how the media outlet reported an incident involving Leigh Griffiths on Wednesday night.
Upon being substituted against Kilmarnock, the Hoops striker removed tape from his socks and seemed to throw it in the general direction of some of the home supporters at Rugby Park. The Daily Record subsequently tweeted (via @Record_Sport) that the 29-year-old sparked “angry scenes” as he appeared to “throw object towards Kilmarnock fans”.

According to the Daily Record, the incident “could be reviewed” after one of the home fans reacted by rushing towards the pitch-side barrier to castigate the Celtic striker, apparently prompting police and stewards to intervene.
Griffiths, who scored the Hoops’ second goal in their 3-1 win for his second strike in as many matches after going five months without netting, celebrated by making a “shush” gesture in the direction of the TV studio where Kris Boyd was sitting, with the pundit having questioned Griffiths’ application in recent weeks.
