A fourth-minute goal from James Forrest ensured that the Hoops temporarily opened up a six-point lead on Rangers prior to their Glasgow rivals’ clash against Livingston later in the day, with Celtic’s official Twitter channel @CelticFC acknowledging the goalscorer and full-time result.

Neil Lennon’s team dominated the first half but were unable to add to their early lead and Hamilton had a couple of decent openings after the interval, including one deep into stoppage time as Marios Ogkmpoe almost got on the end of a Scott McMann cross. [via The Guardian]
The Hoops have now won their last six matches in all competitions but needed to overcome some nervy moments at Hamilton, whose pitch was a source of consternation for some afterwards.
