Celtic have announced Nick Hammond as their new Head of Football Operations following a summer spent working with the club as a consultant, as reported in The Herald.
Hammond has been appointed to assist manager Neil Lennon behind the scenes as they look to secure a ninth successive Scottish Premiership title.
The new appointment has worked previously with West Bromwich Albion and Reading in England in similar roles and said on his announcement: “We have done some good work over the summer. I wanted to play my part in continuing to improve the club’s processes and ultimately ensure that we continue to recruit and develop the best possible players we can at Celtic.
“I have experience of many football clubs and I know that Celtic is a club of the highest quality, a club with the highest standards and that it is blessed with some great people.”
Bhoys fans took to Twitter to welcome their new man and how it would affect their transfer dealings, hopeful that he would be able to maintain the success they have become so accustomed to:
Reduces Lawells interference in the football department. Big win.

Very important role and should avoid future scenarios like the BR exit, whereby the whole footballing side of the club was impacted.
