Celtic: Fans lavish Hatem Abd Elhamed with praise on his 29th birthday

Celtic fans were lavishing Hatem Abd Elhamed with praise as the defender turned 29-years-old.

The £810k-rated, as per Transfermarkt, Israeli has endured an injury-plagued debut season with the Hoops since moving from Hapoel Be’er Sheva in last summer’s transfer window. After featuring regularly at the start of the campaign, a muscle problem kept him out for over 110 days with the ace only recently making his comeback in the 5-0 win over St Johnstone.

He only made his international debut for his country last year and has gone on to make five appearances during their European Championship qualifying campaign. Despite his little game time, he earned praise from manager Neil Lennon following his performance against Lazio in the Europa League with the Northern Irishman claiming he’d proven to be ‘real value for money’ (via Daily Record).
