During yesterday’s 0-0 draw away at Livingston, Brendan Rodgers had to withdraw Kristoffer Ajer towing to injury and whilst the fans were gutted to see him come off, it looks like he’ll be out for a while as he suffered a broken eye socket. The horrific setback will see him miss a fair few games for the Hoops, although the supporters won’t be looking to rush him back.
BR on Kris Ajer: “He’s broken his eye socket so it’s a really sore one and he’s in a lot of pain. He’s probably going to need surgery which is a shame for him.”

Ajer’s injury is one that no one wants to see in football. The 20-year-old centre-back managed just over 70 minutes before suffering the awful injury occurred and now everyone associated with the club will be wishing the Norwegian international a speedy recovery as he looks to start his road back to full fitness. In his absence, the Bhoys will be relying on Dedryck Boyata and Filip Benkovic at the back, but will be desperate to avoid more injuries.
Fortunately for Brendan Rodgers, his plethora of players in the treatment room have a couple of weeks without having to miss a Celtic match during the international break and the Hoops will be hoping that they have some of those currently out back for when they return to Scottish Premier League action against Hamilton Accies at the end of the month, even though there’s little chance of Ajer returning in time for the clash.
