Many Celtic fans have been reacting to a video on Twitter posted by the club’s official account, in which loan-signing Moritz Bauer assists Odsonne Edouard in his post-match interview.
Bauer acted as a translator between the interviewer and Edouard, who had just netted twice in Celtic’s 3-1 win over Kilmarnock, prior to presenting his French teammate with the Man of the Match award.
It wasn’t the first time that the 27-year-old had assisted Edouard either, as his run inside from the right-wing and through ball for Edouard to latch onto gave them the lead at Celtic Park.
The Austrian international was making his first start for Celtic having joined on loan from Stoke City. Bauer had previously made his debut against Rangers in the Old Firm as a substitute but this was his first chance to impress from the start.
Judging by the reaction from the fans below, he took his opportunity with two hands. Indeed, Bauer will now have to compete with Hatem Abd Elhamed for a regular spot at right-back, with youngster Jeremie Frimpong waiting in the wings to impress as well.
Many Celtic fans displayed their joy towards Bauer in response to the video and numerous fans called for him to be signed permanently given the standard of his performance.
