Celtic: Fans plead for Victor Wanyama to return to the club

Former Celtic midfielder Victor Wanyama could make a return to the club today, with reports that the Scottish champions are interested in signing him.

The Daily Mail reported that the Hoops are considering an initial season-long loan move for the Tottenham midfielder and are hoping to conclude a deal for him before the transfer window closes today.

Ricky Sacks, creator and host of the Last Word on Spurs podcast, tweeted about Celtic’s interest in Wanyama via his channel @RickSpur.

The Kenya international came to Celtic in 2011 for just £900,000, as reported by Scotzine, and went on to make 91 appearances for the club in two seasons, scoring 13 goals.

One of those came in the famous 2-1 win over Barcelona in the 2012/13 Champions League, his header opening the scoring on a raucous night at Celtic Park. [via UEFA.com]
