A lot of Celtic fans were full of praise for Martin O’Neill following a post on Twitter from the club about the former manager.
The Hoops marked the 20-year anniversary of the Northern Ireland native taking charge at Parkhead on 1 June 2000 and he went on to enjoy a great spell in charge of the Scottish side, including a memorable run to the 2003 UEFA Cup final.
O’Neill goes down in history as one of the best managers at the club and his statistics prove this. He has the highest win percentage of any manager in the club’s history with 75%, via fitbastats, as he managed to win 213 games out of his 282 in charge. This is a great record in any division and it helped him to win three league titles and four domestic cups whilst he was at the club, per Transfermarkt.
One fan called him a ‘legend’ and these statistics along with the fact that he became Celtic’s second treble-winning manager highlight why many fans are full of praise for the Irishman.
Here is what these Hoops supporters said following the tweet:

32 well earned trophies since Martin walked in the door, the man who instilled the believe into us on the park that we still have to this day. 🍀

Remember chanting his name over and over towards the end of games. It really felt we were all together right behind our messiah. Great days.
