Celtic fans have a new hero in Jeremie Frimpong, with the deadline day signing from Manchester City impressing in his two appearances so far.
The 19-year-old was named in the BT Sport Team of the Week for his role in Celtic’s 6-0 thumping of Ross County and displayed the attacking qualities that first brought him to the attention of Parkhead boss Neil Lennon.
The youngster impressed on his debut in the Betfred League Cup against Partick Thistle and with his performance at the weekend, he is pushing for a more regular starting slot.
Speaking to Celtic TV via The Evening Times, Lennon said of Frimpong:
“At 19 we think for the money that we’ve paid for him we’ve got an outstanding talent on our hands. What you see on the pitch is what you get off the pitch.
“Just an energetic buzzbomb who is all personality, really proud to be here. The week leading into the Ross County game his training levels were outstanding and it was impossible to leave him out of the team.”
Bhoys fans have been just as impressed with the diminutive full-back and took to Twitter after his stellar display at the weekend.
Frimpong has now played 2 senior games for Celtic

El Hamed has had a good start at Celtic and looks a decent player, Bauer is ok but he won’t be here next year, Frimpong looks great and could become the first choice, age shouldn’t come in to it, Tierney was a young boy when he made left back his own
