Loads of Celtic fans have been reacting to a tweet from the club wishing Artur Boruc a happy birthday, as the ‘holy goalie’ turned 40 on Thursday.
You’d be hard pushed to find a more popular figure around Parkhead than Boruc, who despite leaving the club in 2010 is still a fan favourite after five hugely successful years in green and white, racking up three league titles and three domestic cups.
Of course, it’s not just his success on the pitch, where he was often the pantomime villain in the Old Firm, that makes the former Poland international so popular. He joined the Legia Warsaw fans at Ibrox earlier this season to cheer on his old club, and who could forget when he sauntered through Gers territory immediately after an Old Firm clash.
Hoops fans are of course already fired up as they prepare for their Europa League match in Denmark on Thursday, and it was no surprise to see them respond with adulation to club’s Boruc tribute. Check out some of the best Twitter reactions down below…
