A lot of Celtic fans are enjoying former striker John Hartson’s comments talking about his career at the Scottish side, which the club posted on Twitter.
Hartson had a very impressive career at Celtic Park, where he managed to score 110 goals for the Hoops over the five-and-a-half years he spent in Glasgow, via Transfermarkt. He became one of only 29 players to have hit a century or more of goals for the Bhoys, per Celtic FC.
The Welshman wasn’t just at the club to score goals, he also picked up three league titles, two Scottish Cups and a League Cup medal, while he played his part in the team’s great run to the UEFA Cup final back in the 2002/03 season, via Transfermarkt.
However for the player, there was one fond moment that stands out as his favourite, and that is his goal against Premier League side Liverpool in the 2002/03 European Cup campaign where he scored the winner with a long range strike to send the Hoops through to the semi final, via Celtic FC.
He said: “That goal against Liverpool – I think that was my special moment at Celtic,” via Celtic View podcast. They ended up getting to the final but not winning the trophy after losing to FC Porto, per BBC Sport, however it was a great European campaign for the side.

Was working nights at the time, so I called in sick only to get captured live on tv celebrating in the Celtic end when this goal went. Worth it though 🍀🍀🍀
