Celtic FC have recently announced that defender Jozo Simunovic will depart from the club as his contract expired on the 31st May, and a lot of the Hoops fan base are reacting to the news, via Celticbible.
The centre-back signed for the Scottish side in 2015 and enjoyed five successful years at the club, winning the Scottish Premiership five times, whilst also being part of six domestic cup victories, per Transfermarkt.
He made 126 appearances across all competitions, keeping 59 clean sheets whilst also managing to score five goals along the way.

For now it is uncertain where the 25 year-old will go, but for the Hoops to allow a player who has a lot of his career left to go highlights that they perhaps did not feel like he was up to the level required to succeed any longer in Scotland.

Fans have reacted very differently to him leaving, with some saying they will miss the centre-back whilst others are happy he will be leaving. It will now be interesting to see who they look to bring in to replace him. It is clear to see why he left such divided opinions as he struggled with a lot of injuries, and this meant he could never keep his place in the starting eleven, per Transfermarkt.
He has also been known to make mistakes, with Celtic legend Pat Bonner criticising the Croatian for his errors in the past, via BBC Sport.

All the best Jozo a good player but injuries held you back but you did wipe kenny miller out in a old firm match which was brilliant 🇮🇪☘️

75 league appearances in 5 seasons. Average of 15 per season. Good player but never anywhere near fit enough.
