A lot of Celtic fans were discussing former Hoops player Bobby Lennox after he commented on the significance of winning nine Premiership titles in a row.
Lennox was a member of the ‘Lisbon Lions’ team that won Celtic’s first and only European Cup in 1967, as per Transfermarkt.
As per thecelticwiki, he made 571 appearances and scored 273 goals for the club, and won the league 11 times, achievements which highlight just how magnificent a player he was for the Hoops and helped him to become regarded as a Parkhead legend.

His latest comments have seen him compare current star James Forrest with legend Jimmy Johnstone as he said, via Celtic FC, “James is a great player, and while it’s a different game altogether today, he’d have been good for a spot in our team. I’m not sure how wee Jinky would have felt about that, mind you, but wee Jamesy could have given him a run for his money!”
Forrest has been a part of all nine titles in the current sequence and has made 395 appearances for the Hoops, scoring 89 times and registering 92 assists, as per Transfermarkt. This is a great record for the attacking midfielder and it is clear to see why he is rated so highly by those associated with the club.
